Safe neighborhoods
I was just wondering if anyone could recommend somes safe parts of OKC, or if it's easier parts of OKC not to live in. Me and my wife will be visiting to find and apartment in two weeks. Any suggestions. Townhouses for rent would be welcome too! Thanks, Josh

There are exceptions, but in general I would not look in the near SE, SW, or NE parts of OKC. In general the more expensive parts of town are safer as far as crime, and the cheaper parts of town will have more thieves, etc.

I have lived on the sw side of okc for 6 years now close to moore area and we live in a safe area and there are a lot of noce places here as well to eat and shop wonderful parks we take our kids to play at. We are also ready for a bigger home and found a few we liked on SE also near moore area and that area is out from the city b ut yet close enough to everything . So not all area of sw or se or bad its spread out very nice. I am not from ok we moved here also but if i had to pick a place i def stay near the sw area we are at now.edmond is not the only place to raise a family.

We have been in Yukon (west of OKC) for the past two years and it's overall safe. Mustang is south of us and is good as well. Smaller family towns, but not TOO small.

I meant the near SE and SW, like from downtown to about I-240. The farther you go to the outskirts and into the suburbs, the less crime you will have.

Thanks for giving a current opinion of the area. Moore is obviously on the rise which is extremely close to the renewal of OKC proper, an area that has all the great old districts that make a real city.
