Default Lawn Care Service

I am purchasing a new home out in the mustang/yukon area. I am a first time home owner and of course will now be responsible for my own lawn care. Do any of you have any recommendations on who I should look into. Also what are the regular rates?

I am trying to decide if I should invest in the equiptment and do the work myself or have a service do it.

I have some small flowerbed areas that would need to be cared for as well.

Thanks for any information,

(wanting to live on the side where the grass is greener )

It's getting close to a good time to buy lawn equipment (end of the summer). We bought a refurbished lawn mower from Lowe's 4 years ago and it's still doing great! We even haggled a bit on the price and got them to drop it (approx $70). We bought a weedeater (approx $70) and an Black & Decker Edge-Hog (HIGHLY recommended for great edging...approx $80). We do all of our own lawn work. Our neighbors have theirs done by lawn companies (prices rangle from $30-$60 a week). It's much cheaper to do your own lawn...BUT it comes down to time and money. Do you have the time to work on your lawn? Is it worth it to you to pay someone weekly for lawn care? Just a few things to consider.

Always stay on top of your lawn care. It helps with over-all home and neighborhood value. You will get more respect from your neighbors when you show you care about your property value...which of course helps with the neighborhood value!

I live in Mustang and have a person or two I could recommend if you're still interested.
It takes me two hours at minimum to mow and edge my entire yard. Some days it's a major CHORE but other times, it gives me great pride when it's freshly trimmed and neat.
What side of town are you located?

I am moving into a housing edition built by D.R. Horton homes that is off of Morgan Rd. My back yard is MUCH larger then my front, but of course it is my front that i am most concerned about, as far as the edging and care for any of the plants/trees.

Most men imagine having plush green grass that is perfectly trimmed... and I would love to think that I could do that myself. But if it is a pretty minimal fee to have someone else do it, it might be worth it to me. I would probably want more then just the basic cut/edge job. It will need the seasonal treatments as well.

I wouldn't mind getting a few quotes on it so that I can make a better decision.

The worst thing I could do is get it wrong from the start and ruin/kill all that nice new Sod that they laid for me.
