When the county we lived in in NJ started mandatory recycling, the garbage collectors would "shake" garbage bags and if they heard rattling (cans, bottles, etc.) they would leave the garbage on the curb.
We still recycle here in Mustang, just have to bring it to the recycling center which we do about every two weeks. I feel like I'm doing my part, and it's nice to put out a half empty garbage can each week.
