NBA in OKC website
Well the NBA is finally here folks. OKC and Oklahoma should be celebrating big time for landing this huge catch.
Here is the website to look over the team and buy tickets.

A big smile is spreading across my face , because this was such a hard fought victory , but now OKLAHOMA has First Tier Professional Sports that it is not sharing with some one else. I'm looking forward to Tulsa getting
MLS or Arena Football by the year 2010 , I currently live in CALIFORNIA now but KUDOS AND ACCOLADES TO THE PROUD STATE OF OKLAHOMA you just made a huge...huge step up.

Good for you Howest! We should all celebrate considering the significance of it to OKC and the state. It will put us in a huge spotlight and bring in business and tons of money for the state along with prestige.
Tulsa already has an arena football team, but Im sure once the ball gets rolling up there the MLS or maybe even the NHL will come. I wouldnt say 2010, but it is always great have huge expectations.
Now if the MLS or the NHL does come to town you can call it the Tulsa somethings and eveything will be even. I imagine you folks wouldnt be too happy if a possible Tulsa team were to called the Oklahoma somethings!

It reeks of hick. Any name that can be the fodder for hick jokes is NOT a good name.

How about Oklahoma City Marshalls?
NBA filed at least 6 trademarks for the new OKC team.
ESPN - Barons, Thunder among 6 nicknames league seeks for OKC - NBA
I've been following this because Robert Swift is a local product out of Bakersfield, CA.

Since I enjoy hick jokes (being one myself.....joke, that is, not hick) I guess I counter your position. I liked the Oklahoma Outlaws.......I felt it was honoring a large part of our heritage.
I will, however, state for the record, that if OKC wants to do the team as an OKC team, then that's fine. Just don't expect me to be all that supportive. If, on the other hand, they want to be an OKLAHOMA team, then their logo should reflect that as well, at which time I will probably support them. I feel the same way about Tulsa Drillers or Tulsa Ice Oilers. They represent Tulsa, as opposed to OKC or Jacksonville or Little Rock. If you want my support, don't call the team OKC or Tulsa, or McAlester, or the Lawton whatevers......I don't live in any of those areas, so they don't represent me or my part of the area.
Guess I will be stuck with OU, OSU, and NSU teams to support........

The lease with the Ford Center requires the team to bear th name Oklahoma City. Plus, I can't remember if I said it here, I know I have elsewhere, however, one would have to be from Mars not to know Oklahoma City is in Oklahoma.
If you are proud of being a hick, I guess that's your business, however, I wouldn't go around bragging about it. Most do not share your view.
