Your last comment proved one of my points. Not a thing wrong with most of the people. At least they are not a bunch of hicks like Texas.
Are you originally from California? The comment that upsets me most is when people from other states make reference to our CALIFORNIA WAYS...

Guess what. You don't hear me scream "ooo, lightning. I'm afraid of it, so I'm leaving Oklahoma."

Same for earthquakes. They are unpredictable, yes. However, so is a lot of natural disaster. Running away or saying you don't like a place just because of a chance of getting nailed by a disaster is ludicrous. I still don't buy it.

Also. Most people who give that earthquake excuse have never been to California... And are quite prejudiced against it.

Very well said. You deserve points!

No. I was raised in Oklahoma City, but have always called California my adopted second home because of relatives that live there (some have since died, however). I can not stand people's narrowminded opinion of a state that, in all likelihood, they have never seen.

Example of offensive expressions: "The land of fruits and nuts," "all Californians are nothing but liberals." Neither are true.

In short, Hazel Eyes, I agree with you.

I was referring to Hallway's comment that Texans are all a bunch of hicks.

I left SoCal after 35 years, both because the cost of living and illegal immigration has gotten out of control.
I didn't mind the the feel of the earth rolling undernearth me . But It is unpredictible and I don't know who could say it wasn't.

True, the most conservative parts of California, such as Bakersfield and Fresno, where the Okies from the Dust Bowl settled are probably the most conservative parts of California.

Probably is the key word. Moderator cut: personal attack.
