I'd just like to give rep to Oklahoma for this! I'm not sure what state has the cheapest gas, but I am willing to bet it is Oklahoma! And in addition to that, I'd like to ask why is that. I saw gas near my house priced at 3.07/gal/reg. unl. while my girlfriend in Michigan is still seeing 3.60+ My Mom in Las Vegas is seeing 3.30s and I can't imgaine what the East Coast is paying. My question is, I know Oklahoma is an oil state, but I thought Texas was, and even more so than OK, so why is it that gas is more expensive in TX? Thanks!!

Oklahoma has the pipeline crossroads of America located in it (I think its Cushing) so we always have an abundant supply of gas. New Jersey has a lot of pipelines and delivery points from tankers at it so gas is pretty cheap there for the same reason.
I will say other states have just as many pipelines running through it but they often can't use half of the gas because of environmental regulations in those states (see Texas). I am going home to see my parents this weekend and I checked gasbuddy.com and I am FLOORED that the cheapest gas around Plano is 3.55. I will be filling up at the Red River ![]() |

I loved it there during my visits. Just outside of OKC there's Mustang, Lawton, Norman, a few areas we looked at while we were there. Yeppers, sure miss it!
The cost of living there is way less expensive than places like here in Calif, and the wages are lower, but you dont need to make a kazillion bucks a year to live in a lot of areas, such as OKC. Fuel prices are great now, but just watch, holidays are coming and they're going to go way up again (like they always do) because people are going to be traveling... |

2.96 down from my house in Norman. I had to do a double-take and rub my eyes just to make sure.
