Hi everyone. I just moved to OKC to work at OUHSC. I'm from the UK originally. I've started a couple of threads on here before about the move.
I've been here a few weeks now and am still settling in. I'm finding it fairly tough so far (mostly all the driving) but I'm sure I'll work it out. I'm wanting some reccommendations for some decent bars/pubs. I'm looking for places that have a youngish crowd (but not high school kids obviously) where it would be suitable to go in alone to wind down at the end of the day and have a beer. There's a couple of bars near my apartment complex but they're kinda rough. I also went in Tapwerks but it was completely dead. Any ideas? |

Currently the best pub in town would probably be McNellies Public House located in midtown. Its in the Plaza Court building which is near St. Anthonys hospital. McNellies - Oklahoma City There are many other great bars and establishments such as VZDs on Western ave. Western Ave. has many entertainment options. VZD's Restaurant & Club Here is a basic list... Dan McGuinness Pub Bricktown Brewery Fox & Hound Pub & Grille Half-Time Sports Grill Edna's By George Galileos- in Paseo district (many nice establishments in this district) Flip's Red Rooster Bar & Grill Isis Sauced The Prohibition Room-In the gold dome Coyote Ugly Saloon- opening soon in btown. This will help... Oklahoma City Bars, Lounges & more - OKC Live.com good luck ![]() Last edited by happytown; 10-06-2008 at 11:00 AM.. |

McNellie's has my vote. It originated from the one in Tulsa. Same owner.

The owner did a great job, although he took forever with the opening, by trying to make everthing over the top perfect. The sweet potato fries and burgers are great.
