Maybe OKC can get the Pittsburgh Pirates or Florida Marlins to relocate. I'd like to see more Major League sports in town.

The most anticipated project for MAJOR construction in OKC would be the Devon Tower. Others include the Ford Center remake, Indian Culture Museum, OKC HQ, Core to Shore etc. The smaller ones probably include stuff like the river boathouses (boathouse row), improvements to the asian district and private investment like the renovation of many historic buildings.

The Devon tower....925 ft tall, 2.2 million sq. ft, price tag of over 750,000 million.

That will be one awesome building. I'd love to see that come to Oklahoma City.

Happytown the Devon tower is going to cost seven hundred fifty billion dollars? I am exited to here about the place though. I hope to be in OKC soon. What kind of improvements are going to be made to the Asian district?

The entire project is actually expected to cost more than 750. Devon is also using the TIF created from the project to improve the general downtown area like the Myriad gardens. Here is some great info link...
The Devon Tower - Information on Oklahoma City's Upcoming Downtown Devon Tower Skyscraper

Little Saigon has turned into the Asian district and has recieved asian like landscaping for the medians etc. Military Park is expected to be turned into anasian like setting. Lees sandwiches and other business like asian doctors and lawyers can be found along Classen. The Gold Dome has become a gathering place for the community, along with the tower having turned into highrise apartments.

Its becoming a really neat place, but it still has a long way to go and 23rd becoming nicer is a big part of that.

That tower, a spiffy knockoff of Frank Lloyd Wright's Price Tower on Bartlesville, spent most of its existence as office space; in the promenade below, there were supporting facilities like a copy shop and the like.

A friend from the Northeast came to visit, and as I drove up Classen past that missile-gantry of a tower (at 21st), the Dome (at 23rd), and the Milk Bottle (at 25th), she wondered: "What sort of people live here?"

"I do," I said, and it was enough.

whoops...I meant 750 billion. My bad.

The tower was office space. It is now high end apartments with great views.

The area is urban and is very eccentric. OCU and the Paseo, along with Lil Saigon gives it many flavors. Its a shame that some people cant see the historical beauty of the area.
In the next 5yrs 23rd is expected to be a jewel. Long term plans have it playing with all the nearby districts. The Tower theatre is going to be renovated for concerts and the strip will have some nice entertainment that follows the lead of Western Ave. Its pretty obvious when you see the development coming south from Western and Midtown rising. Its only a matter of time and 23rd will be a destination of sorts like Western. Cheevers just opened a market and other investors are spinning off the general revitalization of the area.
