Default Job Opportunities

Our recession has brought many job lay offs. I was wondering how the job situation is in Oklahoma City area.

Here in California, there's no work. People are being forced to leave the state for survival. There's jobs listed, but with so many people out of work there's too much competition.

My neighbor's a Dentist and he had as opening in his office and he had over 2,500 applicants. All real estate agents looking for office work.

Thanks..

Nope, no work here. Try Texas...........

I was being factious

Yes there are jobs here. Customer service jobs are readily available.....call centers, C-Ctores, etc. Some entertainment jobs are available (you up to working in topless bars?). some carpentry stuff, some semi skilled stuff, some skilled labor. There are a few jobs out there for clerical and accounting work. Oil patch work, not as much in demand as it was is still going strong.

Do you have any idea as to what kind of work you want to do? Or are you just going to send resumes around to whatever addresses you can find? BTW, unless you are a credentialed, degreed individual, most employers like face to face interviews.

That's nice to know; seems employers out here want you to fax/email them your resume.

My husband was a warehouse manager for a ceramic tile contractor. I'm going to be sending off numerous emails to tile contractors/tile distribution centers there to see how the industry is going there.

We have family in OK City so it wouldn't be like we were going somewhere and being alone. I would like to have family nearby since I'd be leaving mine here.

Topless bar huh? Well, I might try that, but I can't say the patrons will enjoy it...
