Oklahoma City the Third Manliest City
OKC comes in #3 behind Nashville and Charlotte. New York City finishes in last place of the 50 city sample.

How many of these "rankings" are we supposed to suffer?

Those criteria are pretty ridiculous. Aren't many men supposed to have wives and families who need furniture? And where do the put someone like Rosie Grier? Playing pro football, guarding a presidential candidate, doing needlepoint...

They list number of beauty magazines as a negative criteria? What's the point of being a manly man in a manly city, if it lacks the presence of women (who are often known to enjoy reading beauty magazines)?
And minivans are bad, too? So a man isn't manly if he chooses the most practical means of conveying his family around town? So it's more manly that he entertain his vanity than his sense of utility?
And this ranking was conducted by a candy company...
I guess the manliest city would be full of image-conscious men who are quite content to live in a community without women and who perhaps also like to snack on chocolate. By these criteria, I imagine West Hollywood totally owns Oklahoma City, Nashville and Charlotte in terms of manliness. Pity they don't have a professional sports team nor an arena to host monster truck rallies.

The one with the fewest lifted pickups and most ballets and operas performed.

I would imagine Chicago, just for the Oprah factor alone.

Interesting criteria.
Don't bar room brawls also count?
Maybe also gun shops and shooting ranges? Beer sales? Number of NASCAR fans? Women with black eyes? Sales on size XXXXX T-shirts? Fox News viewers?
Ain't these real macho things?
