You're right, it is the first thing anyone will notice. When I visited OKC back in October for the first time, I was impressed with the weather and air quality, so much that I often went outside the hotel to get fresh air. The hospitality is also great and I can see why Californians like to settle in Oklahoma.

Douglas Burgers used to make good ones..I remember one in my old home town, The Big Bun that used to make just the best ones..

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Palmdale and Scottsdale. We spent a night in Bakersfield, then took Highway 46 over to I-5. In Wasco we passed a few places with Pastrami signs. I had seen this thread before we made the trip, so I made a note in my trip book. We didn't stop, so I know nothing about the sandwiches but you might run up to Wasco to check them out.

Tulsa has a large Jewish community. I don't know where else to look for the deli.
