Surprising, Florida has the highest number of tornadoes per year but almost all are F0 or F1.
But there's been F2 and F3 tornados in Oklahoma every year, and they can still tear up a house pretty bad.

Yes, but you're talking about the entire state of Oklahoma. That's close to 70,000 square miles. We're focusing on OKC.

I used to live in Chicagoland. For the past 30 months in Oklahoma City I've heard only one warning siren.

The weather here will be great compared to Chicago; long Spring, dry Summer, mild Winter.

You can fly Southwest from Midway straight to Oklahoma City for a visit. It's a quick, easy flight.

Having said that, do you depend on mass transit in Chicagoland? You won't find that here. There is no Metra, no CTA, this is a very automotive-centric region.

Then again, you can actually park on the streets here and there is no traffic congestion.

The biggest difference you're going to find is in the socio-political aspects of the region. You might really enjoy things in Oklahoma City compared to the way things used to be in Chi-town...oh,.,,never mind now...yeah, used to be...back in the day...the way things used to be…before so-and-so took over, &C &C &c...

You'll miss the restaurants if you leave Chicago

Also, any and all pros and cons living there? We are empty-nesters leaving the Chicagoland area (way overdo) to a friendlier, cost-of living friendly area. From everything I've read and researched, OKC is fitting the bill.

from my perspective, yes, there are wells scattered all over the place but it's nothing to worry about at this point. Mainly they're out in the "rural" areas.
I live in Mustang and I will tell you, Canadian County, where Yukon and Mustang are situated have very high property taxes. I couldn't tell you in comparison to Edmond, but I know I'm paying twice as much in Mustang as I did in Oklahoma City. I think it's worth it though for the solitude and less-hassle area.
As for tornadoes, they're what you make of them I guess. We have great weathermen in our state, all understand and KNOW tornadoes like the back of their hand. We have ample warning systems in place to alert residents in harms way AND most of the local radio stations simulcast the weather/news stations when there is a threat of severe weather.
Don't let the severe weather keep you away though, it's way better than an earthquake where when it strikes, you have no place to go. When there is a tornado, you can leave the area about to be hit and go to a local shelter or just drive away from it

There are places in Oklahoma that are safer than others when it comes to a tornado. Unfortunately, Moore and Midwest City have been hit more frequently than most others as they just happen to be in that "sweet" spot of tornado alley. I wish I had the link but there is a map with overlays from each tornado season, and it's pretty scary seeing the paths the tornados take.
One example: 2003, a tornado worked it's way north of Chickasha, around Minco/Union City, down 152 East towards Mustang and north up to Bethany then jumped over north of NW 50th and I-44 towards Baptist Hospital and on out....
2009 - A hook echo tracked from Union City/Minco area, towards Mustang, then up towards Yukon, then north to Rockwell and NW Expressway and up towards west edmond.
Pretty much the same track on a map but the 2009 one tracked a mile west of the one in 2003.
