OK City is it gay friendly?
One of my friends is being transferred to Oklahoma City. Will he and his partner find it to be gay friendly or at least tolerant?

Gays are still sometimes in the news in OKC for getting murdered for being gay.

That's an outrageuos remark, StillwaterTownie. Name one hate crime in OKC where a gay person was murdered for being gay. The last time I can recall someone being murdered for being gay was in Wyoming.
I know gay people in OKC, and I would have heard about it first had if something like that would have happened. Sally Kern's village idiot remarks are as bad as it will ever get.
I find it amusing the exaggeration of OKC's conservative climate. It's a laugh at best.

Oklahoma City is most certainly not gay friendly, believe me.

It most certainly is true. You don't live in Oklahoma or Oklahoma City, so you wouldn't know. It was reported in the news about a couple of years ago. Thank God the killer or killers were found and brought to justice.

You got that right. You must remember the time several years ago when the gay banners lining Classen to recognize gay month were ordered taken down before the month was over. It was offending too many people. But the matter was taken to court and the gays won.
I don't see how Oklahoma City can be considered a gay friendly city until it passes a law protecting gays against discrimination like Dallas did.
