Default Young Professionals, Downtown Apartments in OKC

Hello,

I have been looking into a possible relocation for work from Charlotte, NC to OKC. I am a 25 y/o young professional and never having visited OKC, I am looking to get some insight on the young professional (20's, 30's) scene in OKC. Are there any major companies that employ younger professionals? How would you rate the nightlife? Are there certain areas of the city that attract a younger crowd?

Also I am looking some recommendations to live in downtown area. I have heard that Bricktown and China City are exciting places to live. I will be working from home so I am looking for an apartment or condo that is located in a safe, convenient and lively location.

Thank you in advance!

Bricktown would definitely be your first choice if you're wanting to be a part of the young professional crowd. There's numerous restaurants downtown, night clubs, and the Ford Center for NBA and concerts.
Here's a link to the different housing projects down there Residential
There's a handful of rentals, like Deep Duece. Some are loft apartments available for purchase.
The one downside to living downtown is that there's no grocery stores- however Sat morning OSU has a farmer's market. Other than that you'd need to drive a good 10-20 mins for groceries, depending on where you like to shop. There may be some convience stores down there now but I'm not for sure.

Some other areas with good food are the Paseo Arts District The Paseo Arts District and Western Ave.Visit Western Avenue - Oklahoma City's Unique Shopping, Dining & Entertainment District!

An upscale grocery called Sage Market is opening soon in Bricktown/downtown Sage Gourmet Cafe & Market. Looks nice.

Can anybody comment on the vacancy rate for apartments in downtown OKC? I have narrowed down my selection to a few apartments and would like to negotiate a better monthly rent with these companies. Thank you in advance!
