Does anyone know why there are no QuikTrip's in Oklahoma City? With their headquarters in Tulsa, you'd think they'd be in OKC, too. IMO, they are the worlds #1 convenience store.

Default They have an agreement!?!?!?!

QT and 7-Eleven have an agreement to not move into each others market. This is why there are QTs in Tulsa, Dallas and Wichita. I don't know why QT's CEO Chet Cadieux agreed to this since they would be more than able to run 7-Eleven over. I do know that 7-eleven in the OKC area is a franchise and that may be why; QT's does not want to go against a company owned by a single investor, but with companies, like Git n' Go in tulsa, that are corporate owned and have other geographical markets to pull in revenue QT is "game-on!"

Funny, I heard it was an agreement between Loves and QT.

I do love me some QT!!!! I love the fountain quality drinks, clean stores, very friendly staff and the roominess of the stores.

Thanks for the replies. Any convenience store chain that routinely has people who have worked for them for more than five years (like QT has) must be doing something right. Man, I'm wanting a french vanilla cappachino now!

When I worked for QT, they told me the agreement was with Love's, not 7-11.

They don't mind single investors, there are independently owned stations all over Tulsa.

According to Wikipedia, QT agreed not to compete with 7-Eleven.

I have to agree that Quik Trip is a quality place. I've been impressed at the cleanliness and selection, and the competence and friendliness of the employees..

I loved going to the QuikTrips while in Tulsa and St. Louis. It's a shame there aren't more of them in the SouthEast, other than the Atlanta market. They have to be the Chick-Fil-A of gas stations, that's for sure. Or the Publix of gas stations, you pick.
