This isn't true at all.

I don't think Austin is the city that is on the brink of voting in a lesbian mayor...

That's Houston.

I think that both Austin and Houston could elect a lesbian
Mayor (but) not Dallas , Atlanta or Miami or San Antonio...
tell me is a lesbian running in Austin TX.

Really?! Houston just elected it's first gay mayor. The largest city in the U.S. to do so.

Austin is definitely over-hyped here on CD. Try not to buy into all of the hype and proclamations of it being the next "coming". I find that Austin had more character in the early 90's. It's going through a pretty good growth spurt now like many other "it" cities have before, and it too shall pass.

Dallas almost elected an openly gay mayor and did re-elect a gay Latina for sheriff:

First there is no thinking about it if Houston can elect a lesbian mayor or not. Houston DID vote a lesbian mayor into office. As for Dallas our Sheriff is lesbian and we have gay city council members too. As for Atlanta and Miami, I'm not sure but from what I have heard they are gay friendly cities. I can tell you those cities are just as progressive if not more so than Austin. Austin is a funky little college town that has lived off of years of self-promotion and boosterism. But now with ease of travel and interenet access, people can communicate more easily what a city is really like.

Back to the Oklahoma City discussion. Now in my opinion I don't see the city as big league yet. I haven't been to OKC in about 6 years but the last time I was there it was nothing to write home about, nevertheless it is a nice city. I can't imagine that things have changed THAT drastically in the last few years but it is worth it to go check it out again sometime soon.

My hat is off to you Houston ( all gays) here in the United States
need to have the constitutional rights and benefits of their's full
(Civil Rights) given to them I support Domestic Partnership like
we have in California as The (Homosexual Marriage) of Cali.....
and believe that Gays (should) serve in the Military , but if they
make sexual advances toward another soldier marine sailor or
airmen they should be court marshal.....Anywho OKC is a lower
ranking "Big League City" it's peer's are Salt Lake City... New Orleans
Memphis ....Nashville ...Jacksonville ...Orlando.....Raliegh...Tulsa....

There are a (whole ) lot of folks leaving California , Oregon and
Washington heading for Texas and the talk of the STATE Is "guess"
who Austin Texas , well I'm going to consider it just HOT AIR until
I get a "look at it" LOL...FALLING OUT OF MY CHAIR....FOMC...I think
they are viewing Austin weirdness as progressive mind set, pretty
much like San Francisco, it's overboard weird and Radical (But) only
elected one African American Mayor for 2 terms....go figure Austin
hasn't even elected it's first African American Mayor.Hey wasn't Tom
Bradley Major Of LOS ANGELES For About 30 years.
