Default OK City and Edmond OK Housing/Rent Prices

Hi

I might be moving to the OK City or Edmond OK area for a job.

I am a kind of recent grad.

My starting salary will be about 55k, but I also have some hefty student loans.

How will this salay do in the OK City/Edmond OK area?

Would I be able to afford a small starter home in these area?

What are the nicer/safer sections of the area.

I have a dog so places to walk her/yards are important to me.

Thanks!

You'll do just fine on that salary. Nothing more can be said without more information from you.

If you choose Edmond, best idea would be to stay south of Danforth, west of Coltrane, North of 33rd, and east of Santa Fe. lots of 80-120K 3B2Ba in there in decent shape, (UCO is in that area as well), anything outside of that gets kind of pricy.

My favorite park was Mitch Park, It was closest to my house in Pebble Creek on Danforth and Santa Fe I used the 5 miles of trails for jogging. There were always families and there pets out there.

There is also a good park on 9th and Bryant behind the baseball fields, Hafer Park. My friends and I would have barbques out there in the pavillions. There are also a lot of trails there too. It's smaller but there are more trees.
E.C. Hafer Park | City of Edmond, Oklahoma.

I don't know too much on OKC, what i know someone else on here can pobably tell you 10 times more. NW OKC is always a good place to start.

One more thing, you should be fine on a 55K salary, I was makin about 50k, living in
Edmond, single, no kids... a few student loans. I lived like a KING.
