My 18 year old son wants to get into film making (who doesn't), so no matter where we live it will be hard for him, but I've convinced him to train for some type of trade (carpenter or culinary) before he starts his filming so he can at least have a steady income. BTW, he is very good at filming, and has done a few already, but it's a really, really hard field to get into. |

The problem is most houses in the North district won't have much land. In fact, as far as I know, they're all just city lots. Any houses that direction with land would be in Deer Creek or Piedmont schools. Almost no more development in the North district.

OKC? look into Tulsa, it's practically segregated. good side south, bad side north. OKC is just the opposite

And if you want a horse in Piedmont you better be sure the lot size is 1 acre or more. And don't rely on the realtor to tell you the truth. I just watched a young girl and her family get there dreams crushed of raising a horse as an FFA project because there lot wasn't big enough. Even though the realtor said it was. This particular realtor would tell you that a leaking roof was normal, he says they all leak a little.
Anyway, we actually have a big horse riding community out here and plenty of houses for sale with large lots that would allow this. |

What do you mean by "big horse riding community?" Are you referring to the whole state, or your particular town? DH talked to his headhunter in OKC Friday and now he thinks we should look in Yukon or Mustang. She raved about those areas. How are those areas for keeping horses, or are there reasonable boarding stables? DD really wants her own horse and one of the (almost) promises we gave her was to be able to ride when she wants to. Can't do that here in NJ! |

I think they are horse riding communities because they have big roundup clubs that have playdays frequently. It is more rodeo and barrel riding there, in general. People move to Mustang and Yukon so that they can have a horse but still be close to town (OKC). The whole state is a horse riding community, but in my area we don't have a roundup club. We mostly trail ride, work cattle, or some people rope. Edmond does a lot of English, showing, cross country. Harrah and Choctaw are mixed, a lot of trail riding but playday quite a bit. But you can live anywhere, we don't have segregation here.

They have a riding club here but also quite a few ranchers that actually use horses for rounding up there cattle. Just my opinion but I think Piedmont is a little more upscale than Yukon and Mustang, but maybe just a notch below the Deer Creek area. Piedmont doesn't have all the built up business areas that Mustang and Yukon have. Thus a more quite atmosphere.
