We've lived here on Grank Lake for almost 2 years now and love it. But, our daugther lives with us and we are getting a new grandbaby. We're thinking about selling our waterfront home and moving into town even though we live just over Sailboat bridge which isn't far, it just seem we all work different hours and the group effort with the baby would be much easier if we were all in town near our work and daycare. Any suggestions on sites that you can list your home on without using a realtor?

there are some. If you just go to the name of your town and enter Real Estate at a couple will come up. The fees are very low, you can post pictures or your home etc. Just a reminder which you may already know, selling by owner can be a *****. I know many places in OK and AR are getting a bit overpriced. I actually had a realtor tell me just last week, property in Grove and the surrounding areas often sell thousands of $$s below the actual list price, so if you are available to show the property almost all the time and intend to price it enough below the market price to draw buyers it can be a great way to go, but it can be a headache as well.

Hi. You may want to try to advertise it on Craig's List and of course your local newspaper. You'd be surprised how many people read your paper online. I actually have read your paper often and I live 600 miles away. Also, there is a section at the bottom of this site that has a spot for advertising. Check it out~Classifieds.

Thanks so much for the information. We don't plan on over pricing in fact we paid much less then the appraised price for just the reason your guy told you. It took us over a year to find the value we found. Some old homes that need complete re-do's are just as much as the newer home we finally found. But, our house is on the lake and has gentle slope to the water that is highly sought after so we shouldn't have any trouble selling it. I would just rather do it myself and price it right then pay a realtor to do it. We've sold 3 homes ourselves in the past but they were where we came from in Kansas and were not the unique on the lake home we have now. I figured it would be best to find the most effective places to market it so we wouldn't be spending time showing it just to the locals who are browsing more then serious buyers. Thanks again!
