Check the apartments on SW 89th and S Western. They are brand new. Don't remember the name but they are on the southwest corner of 89th and Western. Great schools. It is Oklahoma City but Moore school system which is much better than the Oklahoma City schools.

I think Montclair Parc complex at 10900 S Penn looks nice to me and Red Oak Elementary is just south about 3 blocks. Not too bad for downtown either.

You said you wanted something nearby downtown, but how close do you need to be?

There are safe places downtown but there are no public elementary schools downtown as far as I know.

Isola Bella is pretty far northwest. Honestly it would not be something I'd consider.

You can pretty much travel anywhere in the Oklahoma City area in about 30 minutes or less.

Don't now about Asian Indians.

I don't know about Asian Indians. I'm not aware of any particular area that might have a higher concentration of Asian Indians than any other area. I believe they are going to be spread all over town, just like everybody else. There is an Asian District, but we're talking more East Asians, Chinese, Vietnamese etc. Downtown is not a particular family area. There are some apartments and condo in the area, but they are mostly going to be more single young professional types I would think. While there is an urban revitalization happening right now, its still not an area that I would recommend for families. It's safe enough, but it just doesn't have the amenities such as grocery stores, playgrounds, schools etc that families are looking for.

As Flintysooner said, you can get pretty much anywhere in 30 minutes or less. We live in a suburb north of the city, and DH can make it all the way downtown to his office during rush hour in about 30 minutes.
