grandlaker431 is on a distinguished road
I received an update today from Monkey Island. The sewer system is still off and our development is using porta potti's. The lake is still VERY high. To get to the boat docks requires wading in chest deep water, and there is no power to the docks. The water is receding, but very slowly. the debris is the biggest problem, and the lake is hazerdous to boat on. I think I would stay home.

Default Wow! It sounds like a rough go of it. I am going, regardless.

Hey, grandlaker! Old Monkey Island sounds sorta bad. My friend who has a house out there only mentioned that he was going to get a dozer to clear off debris from his lakefront. The island is positioned to pickup alot of debris from the north. I am on a big hill--Honeymoon Heights--in Tia Juana to be exact where Ghost Hollow meets the main lake. Sawmill Hollow is directly across from me. I have renters and have not heard a peep from them or my property manager about problems. I have a really good and high seawall. I am not on sewer but have septic and that is higher up so should be draining ok. I expect the lake to look a mess but my main goal is to just sit on the deck and watch the water. I gets lots of wind and love to hear the waves--just hope the seawall holds and does not erode the bank. If there is less boat traffic it is fine with me as I do not go out on the lake itself. I think I will be all right. Where exactly are you on the island? I can see problems with that sewer as the land bridge to the mainland is very low. Thanks for keeping us informed. I arrive on July 19th. Hope the water is down a bit by then. God Bless. And hang in there!
