Well, I think a 12 pack a year would hardly qualify the need to concern myself with the calorie count in beer. that's right, I said a 12 pack a year , I'm not a big drinker of beer, but I do enjoy a good red or white wine from time to time at a camp site .

I thought you can buy regular beer, unrefrigerated, at liquor stores? Is this not the case? If you order a bud light at a restaurant, is it 3.2% or normal?

Liquor stores in Oklahoma can sell higher content beer but it can't be cold. Grocery stores can sell lower content beer and it can be cold.

Bud Light is supposed to be 4.2% ABV. The formula is ABW = ABV / .79336. So ABW is 5.3%.

Really clears everything up doesn't it?

PS - I don't honestly know what on tap beer alcohol content is in Oklahoma. I assume bottled beer would be 3.2% ABW because it would be cold and that seems pretty clear.

If I were to order a bud light at Chili's restaurant in OKC, would it be 4.2 or 3.2?

I think any bottled beer in Oklahoma has to be 3.2% ABV which is about 4% ABW because of the rule about cold beer.

I know what you mean. I moved in 2007 and had one beer in the refrigerator that dated from 2004.

Actually, you have the formula backward. Bud Light is 3.2% Alcohol By Weight (ABW)/ 4% Alcohol By Volume (ABV).

Bud Light is 4% ABV across the board. That is its natural content.
