I lost a family member to a drunk driver. Why not make alcohol illegal. Oh wait .... that would cost too much in tax revenues. Besides, we could probably cut down on drunk drivers by stricter drinking and driving laws and ENFORCING THEM.
I'm all for banning alcohol and making it illegal. Will it happen? Nope, your absolutely correct in your reasoning too.
As for driving under the influence from pot....YES it has caused fatal wrecks. Again you are correct in the fact alcohol kills more in DWI cases, but alcohol is also legal therefore alot easy to use than pot which is illegal.
It's obvious I'm arguing with a pro pot/pro drug crowd here for the most part so I will bow out of the debate. Hopefully if the day comes and they legalize pot it doesn't cost any of you your lives or your loved ones.
Lets see, the concert began with Lukas Nelson and his band. That guy sounds a lot like his dad. Apparently he studied under BB King cause he does some riffs that I could of sworn came from Lucille.
It was followed by Kevin Fowler. He has an Austin red dirt band.....not the best vocals, pretty good guitar playing, pretty good stage presence, good rapport with the audience.
Then Willie came in, played for about an hour and a half continuously......except at one point someone from the audience persuaded him to let a kid from the audience sing......and it was about as good a blues as I've heard in Tulsa......don't know who the kid was, but he was good.
And it really was Willie and Family....Lukas and Bobby were both on stage with him......the harp player was perfect......in fact it was a great evening of music as he did primarily his own stuff with a little of Waylon thrown in here and there.....he did do Beer for my horses early on as well.
I did see a group in front of us light up..........I assume it wasn't tobacco..........but they were removed within 5 minutes. One fight broke out in the aisle near us and a couple of guys were bounced. But they had three beer bars and one mixed drink bar, so that stuff should be expected.......drunks are like that.......too bad everyone couldn't do a doobie and mellow out......none of the fighting would have happened.
Lukas is kind of a combination of country/BB King/Jimi Hendrix......real talent with a unique sound.
Thanks GP I have been following Willie for 37 years and seen many shows. He never has disappointed his fans and always gives a good show. I saw him once in South Bend Indiana break a string and kept singing and playing while he restrung the guitar. I have never seen him take a break just keeps singing for an hour and a half sometimes more. We have had very good seats for some of the shows and he will look you straight in the eyes and it feels like he is looking right into your soul.
Saw this thread and thought I'd comment. I seriously don't believe that pot is anywhere near as addictive as alcohol. Have you ever seen anyone go through "marijuana withdrawals?"
I've seen alcoholics go through serious, even life-threatening withdrawals. Never seen any such thing with pot.
I do believe that alcohol has caused far more damage to lives and families than has pot.
This is just my opinion. I am by no means any kind of expert.

Merry Christmas everyone.
Addiction to cigarettes also seems worse than marijuana. If marijuana was legalized maybe at least some people would switch to it from alcohol.

Too much "I am God of the guitar" so just sit and listen to me stun you with my Stevie Ray Vaughan impersonations, which involve playing lead guitar for 30 minutes while the bass, drums, and any other instrument just sit back and admire the self-adorned genius.
That crap died in the 1970s and sucks big time.
Enjoy it though.
REAL music is someone like Dan Fogelberg, where there are multiple instruments and people actually enjoy the music instead of listening to a self-proclaimed legend who *****.
I based the response you are whining about on Kyle's baseless opinions. Post #15 is a good example where he backs up his assumptions with "common sense" based on his limited life experience. He is young and hasn't seen and experienced what us older folks have so his "common sense" means very little to me. In addition, it is apparent from his posts in general that he doesn't do much research and critical thinking. Which is fine, but if we are going to debate an issue I am going to make that a point.
I still believe that his new house is da bomb and my offer of assistance still stands
