Jeremy, did Jack's wife fall ill at some point and that's why they sold it? My mom used to live in Stuart - right behind the motel. She befriended the owners and used to help clean/maintain the hotel in their absence.

I live about 6 miles from the Stuart Hotel which is now owed by the town of Stuart. It is no longer a B & B. At one time it had such a nice little restaurant in it. I had my daughter's bridal shower lunch in it and rented the place for the day. That was 7 years ago. The owner sold the Hotel after getting rather sick and had to move back to IL. Her and her husband had done an incredible job fixing the Hotel. Next owner wanted a liquor license which the town refused so it went into repossesion and looked like it needed to be torn down but the town bought it and it is looking nice again. Have no idea if they intend on selling it or keeping it for the town.

graduting from Moss, I played lots of basketball and baseball over at Stuart. During their baseball tournaments we'd always stop in there and eat. It was excellent food and great people. Too bad it's no longer doing business.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the upstairs suite called the jesse james room and supposedly he stayed there???
