Smile Anybody live on Lake Hudson?

Grand Lake and Lake Hudson are the only lakes in Oklahoma where you actually own down to the water and can put in docks without major hassel from the authorities. Lake Hudson is part of the GRA but what is it like? Is there still vacant waterfront there? Is lake property really expensive in your eyes? I hear it is a good bass lake. Is the water clean or often muddy? How deep is it? It must be quieter than parts of Grand as it is much smaller and can't have as many recreational boaters. When I get out there I am going to investigate. But any info would be appreciated. I just never hear anyone talking about Lake Hudson. Help me out.

I'm not sure if anyone here knows. Kurt may be able to help us out when he gets home because he left for OK a couple weeks ago. Hopefully he'll check it out and get back to us.

I own a house on Grand and know people who own a home on the Hudson. The property on Hudson is much more reasonable in cost. It is much much smaller in size than Grand and doesn't have near the commercial development. The water usually stays fairly clear, like Grand, but not as clear as say lake Tenkiller but much clearer than lake Keystone for instance. I have not been on Hudson for several years but I would venture to guess there is alot of areas still undeveloped.

Just curious, why the interest in Hudson and not Grand? On Grand you have it all, numerous restaurants on the water, just pull right up in your boat, tie up and eat. Same with numerous clubs/bars. A ton of big and small marinas, plenty of fuel on the water. Tons of homes to choose from, but they are expensive!! We built our house 10 years ago and it's appreciated in value at least 3X's over. Here is a couple pics:

And on Grand you can do this every weekend!!

Brian, is that your house? It's very beautiful!! We also checked out the real estate on Grand Lake and although it's higher then Tulsa (and probably the other areas, too), houses are still quite affordable there compared to so much of the country.

Yes, we built the house almost 10 years ago after we purchased the lot two years prior to that. We are there on weekends and live in Owasso during the week. The house in Owasso is going up for sale next spring, we are going to try the commute thing, just tired taking care of two places. Fortunately my wife and I both office from home so we don't have to come to Tulsa every day. One thing I'm going to start doing when I move to the lake is brewing my own bio diesel to save on fuel! The bio diesel ends up only costing around 60 cents per gallon to brew it yourself.
