I don't see it your way, and I think you are incorrect. This program I am donating my body to will use the cadavers for medical research, practice, etc. I am hoping that they will study what is left of me and hopefully learn something that will be of benefit....maybe they will find a cause for a certain disease and that can help lead to a cure. Perhaps by using my body a new surgical procedure will be developed. Maybe my dead body will help train a new doctor to be better in his or her profession.

I have done research and medical colleges are stating that there is a shortage of bodies for future doctors (students) to use. The OU Health Sciences Center does not have "a profit stream on donated human body parts." Once you're dead, you're gone. Why not make a contribution to society (through organ or body donation) to try to make life better for those remaining behind?

I have never had major surgery, as you state you have. However, I would think that if you've had that many problems your body would be a good one to study. Who knows what that study could lead to for others!

Yes, you did start it about funeral pyres. I was offering an alternative to fire and the "biodegradable" funeral choices that were previously mentioned. Donation is a way to help others.

It is your body and your choice, but what a waste!!
