Default What to do in Jay OK

Hi i'm from Switzerland and schould go next week to Jay Oklahoma to a host family to learn englisch and that for a year. I know nothing about this areal but what i read, sounds very boring. I play tennis and golf but i don't know what i schould take out, because i don't know if it has a tennis or golf court close to Jay. The next bigger town is tulsa, but from Jay to Tulsa they are more than 80 miles, so i can't go to tulsa much. So it haven't got sport alternativs nor shopping alternativs (malls etc.) it haven't got a great night life

So what can i do the hole year in Jay Oklahoma?? Do someone live their and can help me and give me informations?

Thanks for answering

Steven

Default jay ok

It looks like to me that you can find both in Grove, Ok. Do you have a car? Or will someone be able to drive you there? Grove looks to be just under 20 miles north of Jay.

A lot of people love to fish, but if that isn't something that you would enjoy then forget that one. How about bird watching? This area is a migratory bird route. Or boating on the lake?

The two golf courses that I see listed charge a fee to play. I am not sure if you have to join the club or just pay as you go.

Hi Steven

Are you going to be an exchange student and attend high school? If so, I think you will make friends who have cars and share your interests, so you will have transportation to those facilities. I would go ahead and bring golf clubs and tennis equipment and hope for the best.

When you get here, please post and let us know how you are doing.

You're right~Jay is very small. We drove through there on our way to Grove. But like Jessaka said, Grove is quite near there. You'll love Grand Lake. I belive they do have golf courses in Grove so like Peggy said, "Bring them along." They also have a neat boat that you can board that will take you for a tour around the lake. They also have places that rent out boats and more then likely things like jet skiis, too. But from what I could tell~yea, Jay looks a bit boring for a younger person. "Boring" is what a younger person would consider it. "Peaceful" is what an older person would say.
