1. distance from the ocean
2. 3.2 beer. Liquor only available at liquor stores which close after 9p.m.+Sundays. 3. poor road conditions (especially Tulsa, which has a high city tax rate) 4. close distance to Texas 5. but the worst thing about Oklahoma is that so many people don't even know how beautiful and diverse our state is! Seriously! and tornadoes are awesome! once you go through a few wicked thunderstorms, you'll be dying to see a funnel touch the ground |

1. All the toll roads.
2. All the construction on the toll roads, so you are paying to get stuck in a traffic jam. 3. All the cops on the toll roads, so you are paying to have an increased chance of getting a ticket. 4. Snakes 5. Hail. Tornadoes are isolated, large hail is common. All that said, I still love the state and miss it terribly -- best people anywhere!!!! |

I have been through a few thunderstorms, but I don't want to see a funnel cloud. I don't even like funnel cake that you get at a fair.

my house got hit by a f5 on may 3 1999 (search it up..very interesting) so im not really afraid anymore...
example The most devasting tornado to happen around here (cherokee county) was in 1921 so im not really worried. The town of peggs was the same size and population as tahlequah is right now...and it got wiped off the map. Killed thousands of people. 21 people of my family. just about every family around here...that sitll owns there orignal land has a mass grave of some sort, because the bodys where so unidetifiable. theres only a couple pictures of the area afterwards. But the population of peggs is now prolly about 200 people. Theres only one standing structure left from the storms, still standing today. ITs just a roofless rock building... |

I had never heard of Peggs before. Here is a link about its destruction:
Peggs, Oklahoma Destroyed by Cyclone - TimmonsCountryMusic.Com AG, tell us more about your experience on May 5, 1999. I remember that picture. Is that curving road in the pic I-35? |

John Littlefield-age 72, Mrs Jilson Littlefield-30, Willie Littlefield-19, Jennie Littlefield-17, Mattie Littlefield 14, Seggie Littlefield-11, Don Littlefield-12
thats the dead from my family 7 out of 21 were found. only 3 people of the littlefield family survived. I got the dates mixed up, it was 1920 sorry, My granpa was born a year later 1921, thats how i got em mixed up. the littlefields owned the whole town, land wise... Currently the town has a school k-8th grade then you transfer to a either tahlequah or locust grove highschool. 2 gas stations which one serves as the feed store and what not. The other is the same of sorts but you get your fishin license and what not there. and a post office. well i live just about a mile from where the tornado hit in more...words really cant describe. utter chaos. Seeing cars and houses miles from where they once sat. one house right next to a destoyed house, left standing. Boards through brick walls. train cars in a neighborhood miles from the depot. but everybody in the town seem to hold together as a unified group helping eachother out. Anthony |

It is strange but after May 3 1999 I have not been afraid of tornadoes either.
In the area in the picture, I think 23 people were killed. |

I was origanilly born and raised in Michigan. I remember when I was just a little kid in the 60's I pictured a tornado looking like a distributor cap coming at you in mid air
![]() I still can't figure out why my imaginary image was so unusual. I'm a "mechanic" (aka= Repair Technician) and most of my family has turned out to be "Mechanically inclined". The only thing I can think of is the design of the "tornado siren".?????????????? |
