GP wins the prize. Get that man a cookie.
*" An oil well directly south of the Capitol was drilled in 1941 and named “Petunia #1” because drilling was done in the middle of a flower bed. It produced up to 600 barrels of oil per day before running dry in 1986. It is one of the several oil wells surrounding the capitol."

In 1935 the Oklahoma Legislature passed a law that authorized the Capitol grounds to be leased for oil and gas production. At one time two dozen oil wells ringed the State Capitol, but the number has dwindled to less than half that.
Phillips Petroleum Co. spudded Capitol #1 on Nov. 10, 1941, and drilled it to a depth of 6,618 feet in 171 days. The well was nicknamed Petunia because it was drilled in a flower bed at the foot of the Capitol's south entrance.
The well is actually 431 feet north of the top of the hole in the Capitol's south parking lot. It was drilled diagonally so it would produce from a spot underneath the center of the Capitol. By the time Phillips plugged the well in 1986 because of declining production, the Petunia had pumped 1.5 million barrels of oil and 1.6 billion cubic feet of natural gas from a mile and a quarter below the Capitol.
Phillips transferred ownership of the well to the state Historical Society in August 1986, for preservation as a monument and for promotion of tourism.

Might both theories be correct? Maybe after the well closed down they mounted a siren on the old derrick.

(Hers went to Lisa... And it looks good on her.)
Where'd she get it?
I'm gonna need one to protect me from the sun
so I don't end up like Seab...
(My REAL Stetson is too hot for OK)
If you say Atwood's, you're gonna have to supply directions.
Yes folks... GP knows OK.
(I'd ask schousse, but she has trouble finding her own truck at Wal-Mart.)
Please note how I have no fear of taking my life in my own hands...
Schousse even scares GP.
And who's the skinny guy with the rope?
BTW... That Hawaiian shirt rivals any of mine and I'm a computer geek...
Schousse is gonna hurt me SO bad tomorrow!
Hope I'm faster than her... She just turned 65 on the 7th. so I may have a chance.

That's no cord...
Let's just say he's going to be a popular little buffalo someday.

Get on 71st. Go east 16 miles. OR take Old Route 66 west. It turns into "Mission Street" in Sapulpa. Go to "Taft" (AKA Stae Road 17), turn right, go two blocks and it is on your left.

It came from the Galapagos when she was doing animal rescue there during the wild fires.
