I think about it, and I do take pics, they just mostly aren't worth the effort of looking at. I have an unparalleled talent for making the exotic and stupendous look blurry and mundane, to say the least.

It must be the little tree growing on the middle of the bridge, and all the brush along the track.

I didn't notice anything either. Until later. No graffiti on the bridge!

I wonder if that is one of the bridges the stimulus package is going to repair? I hate to think of a train crossing that kind of steel support.....talk about a disaster waiting to happen.......

Now that I look, it appears to have been converted to a trail.......too much grass and stuff growing along the edge......still looks dangerous

Another bridge in Hughes County being repaired. This one is on Hwy 75 at Calvin. We don't wait for stimulus packages around here. We just use casino monies. Say thank you to all the gamblers!

There's a little wood frame house about 1/4 of a mile West of there, on the South side of the highway up on a little hill. After I was born, we lived there for four or five years until we moved to the big city (aka Gerty... ).

I saw this little house a mile west of Calvin on the south side. Is it your old house? I love these little old houses. They have a lot of history and untold stories.

No, it's literally right off highway 1 with a steep dirt driveway. I agree with you redbird; those old houses have a lot of history and stories. I'll see if I can find any pictures of the place; I'm sure it looks a lot different these days. In fact, it has probably been torn down. I don't know, I haven't been through that area in decades.

Just past that bridge (East), there is a house on the North side of highway one, which is where my Grandfather on my Mother's side lived. His wife (not my Grandmother) still lives there from what I understand. Their back yard faces a big valley as the house sits on a hill. It's beautiful there. He passed away some 30 years ago and I always enjoyed visiting them.

I need to take a trip up there someday soon. So many memories.
