I feel the same way about people discouraging me from moving to OK! I've never been, but I've heard, read, and seen a LOT about the state and am really excited to move!

I can't wait to post my OWN pics of Oklahoma in this thread!!

Not exactly sure, but if what I've read is correct, Belle Starr's grave would be to be west. But again, I'm not really sure, I can only go by what I've read.

We actually made an offer two weeks ago on a property outside of Stilwell. It's not quite as pretty as the one in Porum, but it's a better closer to what we were looking for. Plus the wife wasn't all that keen on having a cliff on the edge of the property. Something about the kids trying to fly ... My response that they'd only try it once probably didn't help.

So you'll be arriving in September? Is that a visit or when you'll be moving?

It's a good time of the year, right before Autumn. Nothing so spectacular as in Maine, but still a beautiful time of the year.

Sure!

Except... I don't plan on jumping off a cliff in an attempt to fly. lol

I chose that as my handle in reference to the Sara Evans song, because it inspires me and has a lot to do with my current situation.

Hopefully actually late July - mid August, if I get accepted to OCCC! If not, I plan on trying to move down anyway eventually, because I think I've fallen in love with Oklahoma. Hehe

Default I love this picture

This reminds me of some kid who got a new 4 wheeler. Except it might be a kid age 40 something!

He has been making these swerves up and down the dirt road for the past two weeks or so. But today, he got artsy and made these cool tracks, which look pretty neat if you ask me.

I would have loved to have had a 4 wheeler when I was a kid.

It does look cool but who's gonna shovel all that gravel back onto the road so it'll be drive-able come the next storm? AND the ditches on both sides will be full of gravel so a new river maybe? AND is this your road in? Ouch!

Ah, not to worry. This is a good road. It's hard packed. It's actually worse to drive on after it gets graded. Besides, which would you rather have, a neighbor who is doing meth/crack or one who is riding a four-wheeler?

Besides these neighbors are good people. They work their TAILS off! Never ever have I seen a married couple work their land so hard. Now the OTHER neighbor....
