History holds so many stories. Did you know our illustrious Moderator, Synopsis, hails from Gerty, which used to be called Buzzard Flop?

How cool is that?

Here ya go Redbird. (Comanche and Akiah)
As you can tell, these were all taken with different cameras. I have a cousin who is a photographer in Colorado. He came down and took the ones which have a sepia tone. He loves taking pictures of them.

This is Comanche when he was very small.

Akiah when she was small

What great pictures Redbird!! It reminds me of one that I have and I will post it too.

Dec.4, 1948 Mr. Hundley's birthday
Hundley's store in Calvin

When my husband's mother was in the nursing home in Holdenville and we would go to visit her, we also visited several people there who were from Calvin. There was a wonderful sweet woman who had lived in Calvin for many years, who was also a resident there. She showed us this photo and was nice enough to let me borrow it and bring it home to scan it. It was before my time, but I'm fascinated by the history of our area.

Default Duncan Lakes road trip

Had cabin fever today so we went for a little drive up to the lakes. This flu has my hands a little shakier then usual so the pics aren't the best. Still it was a nice drive with a few surprises.

On the road again...

A Beefaloe!

Snakes ahead??

Duncan Lake

Watch out, that Turkey isn't going to pull over!

Peaceful sounds of the creek

Cattle dotting the countryside

Green and Blue as far as you can see.

Just a roadside flower.

Oklahoma! Where Turkey Vultures grow on trees.

Driving over the lake

Turtle swimmin'

The green goes forever

Out by Bray, OK

A couple more lake shots

Time to go home.

But wait! Just look at those handsome Tom Turkeys! Too bad we rolled thru a little skunk roadkill to get these pics. Now my car smells REALLY bad.

Good to have you back posting pics, LR! Have you noticed how well Hughes County is represented lately?

Seems our little miss Roundabout (Heather) has been remiss in sharing her road trip pics lately. Come on, Heather! Don't let the old folks show you up!

(oh boy, I think I just called LR and Cherokee Moon old... ) I better hurry up and change the topic.

And here in Holdenville, OK, someone got a pig for a pet. Geez, don't tell Kari, she'll want one too!

Moo it, girlfriend, MOO IT! Just south of Cromwell, OK.
