Just like being there
RB: Those pics are awesome also. What is that field of orange? It looks like a stand of Cali Poppies, but I don't think so, huh? Also right into my OKIE file they go. I got rid of another chunk of large furniture yesterday. One piece at a time and it'll all go away and I'll be ready to take my own pics of the Okie countryside.

Hiya FCB! I am going to guess that the flowers are "Black-eyed Susans", They grow wild here and right now the fields are full of them! Just one of the many reasons I love it here... every month or so there is a whole new crop of wildflowers blooming!
ODOT actually has a policy of not mowing the medians until "wildfower season" has passed (around the beginning of July) How cool is that???

Luv dem wildflowers
That is cool LR. I can't believe anyone in an agency would actually think that way. I had Black-eyed Susans in T-town but they were yellow looking and had a brown center, so that's why the orange threw me. It is purty. Ladybird did "take" all over the country. Beautify, beautify, beautify.

Thank you Jammie. What a shame you didn't get to make the drive. Maybe next time!

Your pictures are beautiful Redbird! I love the country too. I'm not much of a big city gal, but I do love to visit once in a while. And I really DO love being around people. I like to talk....and talk....and talk...LoL!!!

Even though my pics appear to be run-of-the-mill and repetitive, they are special because I love being in the country versus a large metro.
My grandfather never left Oklahoma, and I can still see him sitting out there on that tractor plowing fields all day. I know I will never move to a large city, or even into town. I just don't like being around people, except when I CHOOSE to be around people.
Just west of Wewoka.
On the way to Seminole, OK.
Going towards Shawnee, OK via the back roads.
These little fellers are our closest neighbors. They are future big macs!

Okie dog food.
Pop that clutch, little bunny. Time to go to Okemah!
Pull up a chair. I always see truckers stop here, so I thought we'd give it a day in court. The burger and fries were good. The poor lady serving us wasn't!

Where is Nubbin Ridge School?
Driving to Holdenville Lake for an early morning walk with my BCF (best canine friend).
Four-wheeler's paradise on the south end of the lake.
A beautiful blue crane glides away after Myla, my BCF got too close.
Myla, my BCF, looks chagrined after she scared away the crane.
Random pics round Holdenville.
Sun setting behind this house in Okfuskee County, near Bearden makes for a peaceful picture.

Redbird, I love your pics. I love that cute little bunny. It looks like you have quite a few water birds down there that are pretty scarce up this way.
