Default St. Gregory's University

This is a slight repeat of a pic of the Admin. bldg. at St. Gregory's University.

Did you ever go by a building a hundred times and never really look closely at it?
Near the top of the building is a statue. Just beneath the statue are 5 little figures that I never really looked at closely before now. (actually, there may be more, but I only highlighted the five directly in the top picture.)

Even if bizarre, they are pretty cool IMO.

Went to the Irish Dance competition in Shawnee. There were dancers from PA, OH, TX, NM, KS, and two clubs from Oklahoma.

This young man is from the OK Irish dance club and he won enough competitions to be invited to Ireland where he stayed for several months. His has two brothers and a kid sister who also were in the dance competitions. (His proud father told us that.)

The Seminole tribe was on hand to give the out-of-staters a warm welcome.

Then it was off in search of the best goldurn hamburger in the world. But first some sights from Shawnee. Most of you have seen these pics, but just bear with me for the time being.

The old railroad stop has turned into a museum.

A bit of local folklore.

The dollar theater.

Finally, if you guys are ever in Shawnee, eat here. It is a cool old diner, been around since 1927. Hasn't changed. The bugers are big and delicious.

I had the Kicker. A bacon cheeseburger with jalapenos. Oh yeah.

Well, so long from the corrals at St. Gregory's University!

There is no waiting for gum-popping waitress. There is a red phone at each booth and you just pick it up and order when ready! Kind of like a Burger Hot Line.

Hamburger King, Shawnee Oklahoma

And they still have that row of seats at the front like a soda fountain shop in the olden days. You know, like when GP was a little boy.

I ate there when I was there in 03. Yummy burgers and fries. Thanks for posting those pictures. I'm still hoping I will get to live there again. I graduated high school 1959. Our ceremony was in the Municipal Auditorium. We marched under rose arches that the Juniors made for the ceremony. They must have taken every rose from every vine in the town and the country surrounding Shawnee I think there were 24 Arches in all. The Auditorium smelled lovely. I have lots of wonderful memories of Shawnee.

LOL They all look so young, are you sure that is 1959? I wasn't in the band. I understand the old High School is now a middle school. I was a married lady, going on 18 YO during my Senior year. One of those girls, looks a bit like my ex sis-in-law. But I don't remember her being inthe band. She was into tennis, very athletic. I wish I had my Graduation album.

I commute 30 miles to work and normally see around 10 cars max during the commute. The only slow down I have is the two stop signs.

Sometimes I encounter slow downs like this one. Taking the cattle to the sale barn with a little help from the cowboys.
