Happy belated birthday LadyRobyn. Those pics are great, especially the webs with the dew.

Thank-you for the compliments and the Birthday wishes! My Camera was supposed to be an early B-day present, but they still spoiled me and bought me a few "accessories" for it.

I think the hubby may be having second thoughts though... Supper was late last night because I was outside trying to get shots of the clouds.

I know what you mean, LadyRobyn. I have loads of pics of clouds, trees, rocks, etc.

Some Halloween pictures. The downtown merchants start trick or treat off at 3:30 when the kiddos get out of school. This year there were over 1000 trick or treaters. It was fun.

Hey, see that First United building in the first picture? I help hot tar the roof on that building when I was in high school. I have a scar to prove it on my right wrist. The guy that was filling up the hot tar bucket down below was filling it up way to high. I was pouring the hot tar and another guy was mopping it. When I tried to pour one of the buckets some of that boiling hot tar lapped over the back edge of the bucket and got behind my glove on my right wrist. I dropped the whole bucket of hot, boiling tar and the remnants of the five gallon bucket splashed onto my pants. Luckily I had on thick pants and got nothing more than red skin on my legs. But my right wrist was another matter. It was a serious burn all the way down to the tendons. I didn't go to the doctor though, my dad treated the burn when I got home. Although I didn't work any more that day, they didn't even let me off work early! Needless to say I didn't return to that job.

Great pics Peggy!! Now I REALLY wish I had gone downtown with our Daughter and her friends. Duncan had something similar called the "Boo Review" The local paper had a write up but I'm not sure about linking the article here. (The local paper also has links to another message board...could be considered 'competing')

The little guy who took first place in the 1-3 yr category was a friend of our daughter's... he was dressed as a Can of Worms! His Mom stuffed old pantyhose and draped them outside the can for the 'worms'.

Synopsis: Big OUCH! The hubby has dealt with that stuff before... did your Dad use Mayonnaise (or oil) to get the tar off or did you just wait for it to wear off?

The Duncan Banner - Boo Review

Quote:
“I’ve always liked ninjas,” he said.

One of the most unique costumes was worn by Blaiden Timmins, a 2-year-old who also took first place in the ages 1 to 3 costume competition. He was a can of worms.

We went camping at a pond weekend before last. It was a wonderful, relaxing time.

We needed a fire to keep warm the first night and morning. That's my DH.

My BIL caught some nice little bass.

It was cloudy and cool the 2nd day.

The sun came out on the 3rd day.

The dog likes camping too.

Some turkey vultures landed in a tree to wait for the wind to start blowing. Or maybe they were waiting for us to die.

Keeping the fire burning was a full-time job.

Looking a reflections was another full-time job.

We strolled down to the pond dam to try the fishing there.

The dog likes fishing too.

But, we finally had to go back home because the dog got too tired.
