Kiowa, Comanche, Apache, Chinook etc....

Am I the only one who's noticed that our military named all their cool choppers after NA tribes? (With the exception of the AH-1 Cobra.)

That AH-2 Okie Thunder is due out next year.

They might also try the AH-3 BillyBob RoyDMercer, that has a good ring to it.

Before I get Mod-slapped, I will enclose yet another pic from the vaults of yesteryear.

Indian City, USA
Anadarko, Oklahoma

This place is now closed. But in the old days, it was pretty cool tourist trap.

While Chinook is a NA word, it means "big wind." But I guess the NA's in Canada don't mind us using it.........

I was interested in the pic of the children~Comanche, right? They are so cute and I was wondering if they're a from a mixed race or full Comanche? The reason I'm curious is because our Sioux are a lot darker then that. I always admired the gals when I was younger cause when they'd be at the pool, they could stay in the water and didn't need to lie out and tan like we white girls had to.

I don't know what tribe those kids were. Those pictures were taken sometime in the early 1970's. The film is really faded. The Indian Fair parade has all kinds of tribes represented.

Thanks.

I took a few more and stuck them in an album, if you want to see them.

Backyard Birds

We spent the afternoon driving around some of the lakes nearby and I took a *few* pictures...

Only a little over 400...

As soon as I get some resized I will post them.

The other day I heard my dog bark out back, I can usually tell by the tone of the bark the reason. This sounded like a happy bark so I went out back. He was jumping up and down, lookinging a tree. I looked up and there were about 7 big squirrels play tag from one tree to another on both sides of the alley, and doing high wire acts. it was very entertaining.
