Colleen, we have about 3000 acres in OK and TX. We farm about 800 acres and lease the rest out for farming or cattle. My DH's family have been farmers and ranchers in this country since before the revolution.

peggy, is the 800 acres that you're farming the pecans? that is so neat about steve's family. this may be a dumb question, but please excuse this "farm challenged" woman, but are the 3000 acres in OK and TX joined? is that possible to own adjoining properties in two different states?

The pecans are part of that, but the 800 acres we farm are spread out over Hughes and Seminole counties.. The lands are not joined in one big piece (that would be really cool) but are one piece here and another piece there. A lot of it is just rocks and trees. The Texas land is way down near McAllen Texas.

We grow hay also. We have a peach orchard that was already on the land, but so far not many peaches! Something always goes wrong with peaches.
Oh, I am chubby.
