I think the tree with the red foliage is some kind of cypress tree. Nice pics, Synopsis.
I went to Donkey Basketball last night, I'll post a few pics later.

They still have Donkey Basketball games out there in Oklahoma? I haven't seen one since I was a child, I got a big kick out of them. Here in Ohio they're to stuffy to have that kind of fun anymore.
That was a nice picture of the tree wasn't it. I wasn't quite sure what kind of tree it was, thanks for the info, peggyD.

(Go watch TV for awhile or something! ) We just recently got off dial-up and I had never been able to see a You Tube video before now.

LadyRobyn,
I was able to see your DM that you sent to me on my best-halfs pc. I have only one word for it "AWSOME". Thank you so much for sharing it with us, we really enjoyed it.
Hey, who was the young lad in the service dress whites? I'm a retired Navy man myself of 21yrs, in the SeaBees (CanDo). Navy Moms and Wives are the greatest people God ever made.
Thanks again my Okie freind.

Swan update: they are still here. I hope they build a nest!
On the way back from spying on the swans (a few days ago) I ran into this bad actor:
I don't think he likes me.
Looks almost cute here.

Great pictures Peggy, as usual. Thanks for sharing. Yes, possums aren't so ugly if they'd just keep their mouth closed. I'm used to seeing them mostly at night. I guess this little guy was out partying during the day..

Nice pics, Peggy. Those swans are beautiful and I'm surprised that they're in your area. Is it nice enough that they can stay year-round?
Oh, I think the little furry guy likes you. He's just smiling for the camera.

*Yay* I'm glad you got it to work.
I keep 'tweaking' the content and timing to see what I like best. The Sailorman is our 'Boy... He will finish his 5 yr stint in the Navy, June '08 then he plans on moving here to be a Firefighter. (He's already a Volunteer Firefighter out there.)
He might be 6'4" and 200lbs but he will always be our 'Boy!

Peggy, I LOVE those pics!! I haven't seen a Possum close up since we moved here. We used to get them crossing our back fence all the time in CA. The Mommas and babies were the cutest!
Our dog would go NUTS every time one would cross the yard and we usually had to go out with a broom and knock them into the neighbors yard to get him to settle down... We called it "Possum Punting" Every once in awhile we would get a Hefty old male with a bad attitude and boy could they HISS and carry on!
Thanks for sharing!

Nice pics
PeggyD,
LadyRobyn is right, those were some beautiful pictures you had there. With the exception being the possum, uuuuuugglllyyy, now that a face only its momma could love. But on the other hand, I guess they do have their place in this world, like a clean-up crew.
Now when I was a kid growing up on the farm, my brother and I never did any "possum punting". But we did have our own type of a sport, called a "possumpult". You see, you take a flat edge, long handled shovel, then you slide it underneath the little critter and be nice about it. Now at this point the placing of your hands gets real technical, it depends on if your left or right handed. But anyway, you place one hand on the butt-end of the handle "the tip" and other other hand half-way down the shaft of the handle. Now ya'all pay attention at this point, you find a point of trajectory and landing "soft if you wish". Then with as much force and stength you can muster-up, YOU GIVE IT A HURL! And see how far and as close to the apointed place you put the little bugger.
Growing-up on a farm you had to find your own kind of fun and to us "Thats Entertainment".

I found a couple in my kitchen one morning eating cat food. That's what woke me up, the loud crunching sound, it sure wasn't one of our cats.
And Hiss, they stood there hissing at me with their mouth wide open as if they were telling me to get out of their house.
