LadyRobyn, if you like possums I can ship you a truckload! That's funny about the possum punting.
Jammie, I was surprised to see those swans too. I have never seen one except places like Swan Lake in Tulsa. I have read that they spend the winter in Arkansas some, and some have been spotted near Paul's Valley in OK. I think they will probably fly north in the spring.
Mk, don't you just hate it when they hiss at you. If you pick them up by the tail they can't bite you.
SeabeeBolt, sounds like you had fun as a boy. Did the possums ever learn to stay away from you?

Here are some donkey basketball pics. We got there too late to get a seat, so I watched from the door. This was at Moss School, east of Hooterville.
Getting ready to start.
Most of the players are on their donkeys. Some of them never could get on their donkeys, and just had to lead them up and down the court.
It was the seniors of 08 in the blue helmets against some parents in the red helmets. The girl in the overalls chasing her donkey must be the class clown. Her overalls were heavily padded with foam, she is not really that fat!
They are having a good time.
He shoots! He scores!
Rebound!
It's a close game in the 2nd quarter.
Thrills & Spills
Halftime, so everyone heads to the concession stand.
They had some tasty charcoaled hamburgers. My DH ate 3! I had a bite, well about 4 bites. Yummy! This was a fundraiser, so I think it was a success.
Slave auction.
If you get bored, you can always play in the lobby.
It's hokey, but it was fun. Here's the whole set of pictures.

Very nice pics, LadyRobyn. I like the way the moon was shining behind the little twigs. That was a very pretty moon last night shining on the thin clouds.

Wow, you REALLY did mean donkey basketball. I thought you meant the way where you can only throw underhanded. I'm surprised that the hooves don't mess up the floor though.
BTW, I played basketball on that court many times (unless it's a new one) when I was on Allen's HS BBall team!

That's one reason why I went, to see if they were really having donkeys in the gym. I'm sure that is the same gym you used to play in. Moss is a nice school. They tore down the old school building a few years ago, sadly.
Mk, those donkeys are really pretty strong. Some of them bucked off the riders every chance they got! Some of the riders were pretty big ol' boys though.

Yes we did have a lot of fun and no the stupid critters never did learn to stay away. But as I recall my brother was up a few points on me.
Up here in Ohio we call'em "speed-bumps" on the roads.

Usually they put little rubber boots over thier hooves, so they don't mess up the gym floors. Plus it gives the donkies some traction. Its alot of fun, isn't it?

And the donkeys don't even get to say "How big an old boy are ya?"
