Thanks Whip! We don't get to see many pictures of Poteau and the surrounding areas much. Great pictures!

Thanks Whip,
The picture of Poteau were nice. My S/O and I are planning to visit Poteau and Sallisaw this spring and look around at the housing market and job market.
I tried to give you more rep points but it won't let me, "the stupid thing".

Thank You!!
I was so glad to see pictures of Poteau and surrounding area's that I can show my husband.Oklahoma will come as a shock to him after emerald green Oregon I know the national weather forecaster make us look like snow city but close to the coast it will be 65-70 today and 35 tonight. My sweetie is tired of mowing and weedwacking in the winter between raindrops.

Being from Ca. I know what you mean. Isn't it pretty much a rain forest up there? Or is that just Wash, state?

Rain and more rain
Warmer than Washington,60-80 inches in the 9 months it rains constantly, then no rain and brown, dormant lawns for a couple of months in the summer with no rain.No poisonous snakes, hardly any bugs (I have never seen a cockroach in this state!!).Woodsmen complain of the occasional tick. The worse part is some weeks you see 1-2 hours of sun a week if lucky.

The extreme north of the state can get about 40-50 inches over the winter, and the extreme south of the state between 10-15. Being central, we usually get around 30 or so. But this year, I don't think we've had 5 or 6.

We've had record snowfalls here...
I guess you won't appreciate OK as much as I would.
Okay, here's the deal....
Scott drives, you navigate and Anna picks the music!
(Doug will be safe at home!)

But we have two vehicles to get down there. I drive the pick up truck and Scott drives Doug's car since he is flying down ahead of us. We share the dog. Anna likes country music like I do, so she'll ride with me. Scott listens to rap (ugh!), so he can ride by himself.

I'd say that was fair.
You won't need those snow tires when you get to OK.
