I have to weigh in on this because you need to look at SE Edmond. Anything along Memorial Road and I-35 corridor would be about 20 minutes to MWC.

More specifically, you might want to look at Oakdale School district (Sooner Road and Hefner). Great neighborhoods, excellent schools (through 8th grade). When the kids are in HS they can go to Edmond or Jones schools. Easy access to MWC, OKC and Edmond. Very green area there as well.

Moore is OK but the nicer parts of Moore are southwest and the commute isn't any faster than SE Edmond. There are some decent neighboor hoods along sunnylane and Sooner that would be a little faster than Edmond or west Moore.

I definitely agree, but eddie gein, is Oakdale doable on the OP's budget? I believe they said they wanted to stay in the $150,000 to $180,000 range. I know there are definitely some things in the SE area of Edmond that would be completely within that range, but isn't Oakdale a bit more pricy?

Great! Thank you for the info on SE Edmond and Oakdale.

If Oakdale is out of our budget, are there still nice neighborhoods in other parts of SE Edmond?

Everyone seems to agree that Southwest Moore is the best part of Moore. Is there a similar line of thinking re: Edmond? (As is, is the Northwest part of Edmond the best, Southeast the best, or what?) I'm trying to find out if there are a good number of nice neighborhoods in SE Edmond, or if most people buy in a different part of the town.

Thank you again very much!

You should not have a problem finding a nice neighborhood. There are plenty of them all over Edmond.

Does anyone know anyone who is renting in SE Edmond? We are considering possibly renting first, and would love to know who they used to find their rental property. Thanks!

Search for "property management" companies in OKC online. You can also check craigslist. I just went through this a few months ago when we sold our home (sooner than expected, which is a good thing). I am a homebuilder here in Edmond and my personal home wasn't quite ready so I too had to find a nice rental. I don't think it is appropriate for me to advertise or mention my building company name or the name of the property mngmnt co I used without their consent on an open forum like this. IMO, you all would be best off renting for awhile until you can really look around the metro area for the best place for your family. Best of luck!
