Default Alternative fuel vehicles in Oklahoma

Here's an interesting link that shows that Oklahoma is #1 in more ways than one! We are number one in alternative fuel vehicles per capita. Congrats Okies! Alternative Fuel Vehicles (per capita)

valpoguy is on a distinguished road
That surprises me, given that Oklahoma isn't exactly a hotbed of environmentalism. I notice that, except for D.C., the top ranked states are all places with a lot of farming and ranching. Is biodiesel being used a lot more for these purposes? It says natural gas vehicles are included. Maybe that explains it?

I don't know actually how many are in each category Valpoguy. Here is an alternate link for some perspective, showing how many actual vehicles in each state: Alternative Fuel Vehicles

I don't think LNG is all that popular here, but I did hear about UPS in this area going to CNG a few years ago. Biodiesel can run in any diesel engine, as far as I know, so I don't think those vehicles would count. So far I only know one person with a Prius, but that is not too scientific as far as a survey. I just thought it was an interesting statistic, and I'm always on the lookout for something good about Oklahoma.

WOOO-HOOO!!! Go, Oklahoma!! That is absolutely wonderful and it's also astounding. It seems that the areas of the country that are considered to be the most backward or behind in times are listed near the top. My own state came in 9th.

Peggy, thanks for sharing that with us.
