It's a nice story, but it doesn't change my opinion. Oklahoma is the least friendly place I have lived. Maybe it's the heat that makes everyone so angry.

I forgot to mention the incredible amount of litter along the roads. Throwing trash out of car windows is a sport around here. I've been to 36 states and Oklahoma is the worst I have seen.

Nah, they're still mad at Obama for being elected and because far from enough conservatives things are getting done in government to suit them from the local level to the national level.

As for the litter, I don't think many city people give a damn about how roadsides look with litter along the highways. It looks worse in their cars.

What town do you live in where they are so unfriendly and littery.

I do pipeline work and travel all over the country. Oklahoma has the worst litter of any state that I have seen.

Is it really that dry? I am totally looking for less snow and more sun but never being there, I am wondering about the terrain. My husband loves to fish and our family loves to camp, swim and boating.

Of course, I have also heard that the people of OK are very friendly, which is nice to hear.

We are thinking of looking into the Norman/OKC area? Would that be an area with more lakes or rolling hills? Or does Tulsa area fit that criteria a little more?

I grew up in Durant so you know my bias but I recommend you give it a look. Durant has hills and lakes near by but also has a larger town feel to it from the growth and being the larger city in an area of oklahoma so it gets business from smaller town residents. Its 1.5 hrs from Dallas so good access to airports and big city things. It is a growing area with good public schools and some culture from a local State University. Give it a look if this fits you bill

NE Corner of the state. I'm from Minnesota and miss the greenery. I think the NE is the best part of Oklahoma, but to get me greenery fix I prefer to skip the border into NW Arkansas.
