A friend is considering buying this home in Holdenville. It is reduced to $89K from $100K. Kinda nice, but this should give you an idea of what homes go for in Hooterville.
![]() This red one went for ~around $78. It just sold. I actually like this style better. ![]() Personally, I think these prices are unheard of in other states. What do you think? |

The realtor said that people were afraid of the house payments on the 2 story white house. The house was built in 1935 and the owners have an antique stove in it. It looks bizarre on the inside.
I think it must be a flip because of the way it is "staged"- the furniture looks like something out of a movie set. But then again, what do I know. I just think the price sounds too good to be true. But there are a lot of houses in Holdenville for 20K. Personally, I am too accustomed to living in the country now to ever move back into town. Our outside light has been going out for the past week and it gets pitch black outside when the light goes out. Then it is so dark and quiet except for the wind, its hard to believe. |

You get a lot for a house. I really like both but would choose the white one. We certainly didn't get as much for our money here in Tahlequah. Of course we have a half acre, so that probably counts.

So many people are afraid of older houses because of maintenance costs. We live in the country in a small place (trailer), but we also have a house in Holdenville that we bought incredibly cheap for the house we got. Our kids stay there when they come to visit us. Our town house was built in 1911, and once we took out the carpet and put down new flooring, nothing has gone wrong. We did have a tree collapsed and some wires torn down by the ice storm, but that would happen to any age house.

Hello Everyone! Love those pics Redbird!
Listen, maybe yo ucan help with a couple of questions... years ago I found a listing of our family members buried at Holdenville City Cem. That was about 9 - 11 yrs ago. Now I can't find it! Maybe I've lost my touch?? The other thing is, does anyone remember Chief Mattingly? I believe that was the correct spelling of his name. No, he isn't a police officer, he is Native American. Luv to hear from you. Thx, Mary ![]() |
