Speaking of foods balancing themselves out. I was at a movie with a friend years ago, and I got sick to my stomach from too much chocolate. She said, "Eat something salty because one is a yin, the other a yang." I began eating salted popcorn, and I felt better almost immediately.

Speaking of popcorn, I've known quite a few people who were from both Texas and Oklahoma, who thought popcorn and milk was the perfect breakfast food. Does anyone else eat stale popcorn with milk poured over it like cereal for breakfast? I'd have thought they were joking, but I actually saw them eat it with obvious pleasure.

I have never heard of that, but maybe it could be good. I never have any popcorn left over! Did they eat salted popcorn with milk? Now, sweet cornbread with milk makes a good breakfast.

Sweet cornbread and milk, yes. I never liked it, but my parents and practically every adult I knew growing up loved the stuff. And the milk wasn't your ordinary milk, it was thicker and creamy. I forgot what it was called. It was sweet milk, and the cornbread was regular cornbread, I think.

Popcorn with milk? I've never heard of that.

Butter milk or unpasturized milk. I remember when I had to skim the cream off the top. Then put the cream on my oatmeal so it would hold more sugar.

Has anyone heard of peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches?

I like dill pickles on my peanut butter sandwiches. I liked those old milk bottles that were brought by the milkman, that had the cream on the top. When we moved to OKC, no more milkmen.

I was raised on a Dairy farm and Kraft picked up our milk. Every week we would get a free block of cheese. About the length and width of a cinder block but 1/2 as thick.

Man, mkf, you had it made! All that milk! You must've been a stout boy. I suppose you had plenty of chores to go with being raised on a dairy farm.

We make a lot of popcorn, but I can never make it taste as good as the movie popcorn. I even splurged and bought the Orviille Redneckbaucher popcorn oil. Geez, that stuff is expensive!

I used to make my own peanut clusters with those red peanuts and semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave. Man, THAS LIVIN!!

The only weird okie combo in our house is Uncle Don puts pepper on his cantalope, and eats cheese with his apple pie. Don said his aunt and uncle always put sugar on their tomatoes. (eeyuck)
