Red face Moving to Muskogee? HELP!!!!

I have accepted a job in Muskogee. I don't know anything about the area. I'm not sure if living in Muskogee is a good idea or if I should try the surrounding areas. My main focus is finding a good area for my 5yo son. I will definetly need to scoop on the schools. Also youth sports if any. I seem to read mixed reviews on Muskogee. I want your opinion. Good bad or ugly. Please help!!!!

My children didn't grow up in Muskogee, but, I often here good things about Tony Goetz elementary. It's also located in a good area, at least generally. No idea what you've heard one way or the other about Muskogee, but, like most places, it has its share of crime, but, most of the crime is is areas of town where you wouldn't want to live. Recently, someone else posted about moving to Muskogee. So much depends on you whether you like it or not. There are plenty of physicians, both primary and specialists and hospitals.

My daughter and grandkids live in Muskogee. The kids attend Hilldale Public Schools. Good school, the only thing better would probably be Ft. Gibson schools across the river from Muskogee. Check the housing in the SE section of Muskogee. Pockets of old neighborhoods with low-end rental houses but lots of more up scale housing in that section of town. New construction and newer more modern housing available in that area that puts you in the Hilldale school district. If I could not have my kids in Hilldale, I would live in Ft. Gibson, period.
