My sister lives in Bartlesville now, but moving in April. She has rented 2 houses in the area. I think she found them just by driving around. I'm sure her landlord wouldn't mind renting it to you when my sister moves out in March/April.
Good luck!
Shari

Ok, I too am now considering B'ville. I've been there 3 times in the last two weeks and really like a lot of things there. QT! Although the mall is not much, I am used to driving 30 miles to a mall now. What can someone tell me about the churches there? I am from a Christian church background, but the ones there seem small and not growing much. (However, I have not visited any). I am a recently divorced middle aged guy NOT ABOUT to start going to "senior activities" to meet people. It may be June 08 before I move if I do, but I need some input!

Going back to the Lakeshore discussion, I just wanted to say a couple of things. When my husband was transferred here with CoP, we lived there until we found a house. We moved there in May and the flooding began! The mobile home we rented backed right up to the pond, so there were a few scary moments, but the water never got in. This is the first time in 8yrs that the water has risen that high, so I wouldn't be too concerned about it being a regular thing.

The people who live in the front loop are all very nice and the kids are very sweet. There are some characters out there, but where aren't there? I'd recommend it to anyone who is trying to save money or looking for a short-term lease. They will let you rent month-to-month and we never had any problem getting things fixed.

Thank you, geekswife. I have a fairly decent, wood-sided mobile that I would probably move there rather than rent one of theirs. I'm not much on kids younger than teens abundant, but we shall see. Seems like the long-distance management could be a problem, as they don't have one on location right now.

Straying to another B'ville subject...I'm watching the paper online and it seems there is a battle in the city government going on. Is this something I should be concerned about? I'm used to small-town conflicts, but a city this size I would think would "have it together" more. Miami started the "code enforcement" stuff a few years back, getting rid of junk cars and tall grass. If you are in compliance, it seems like a good thing, but I detect a lot of unrest in B'ville about the Code Police.

Default Planning to Retire 2009 to Bartlesville

I would like to know of available rentals for a soon-to-be 60 year old single male retiring in 2009 and no longer being able to afford to live in California. I am healthy, active, independent and want to know what Bartlesville, OK has to offer. I am also interested in maybe taking some classes @ Oklahoma Weslyan University there.

Welcome all replies.
