Coming from NM, there isn't a lot to see once you get into eastern NM. A few things around Amarillo (Giant Cross, Leaning Water tower, Cadillac Ranch), maybe the wind generator farm in Weatherford.

If you take the back roads say from Lubbock up to OKC they are two lane and would keep you a bit more on your toes than the long straight interstate. Could see if you can find the Camel farm.

From Alamagordo to Tulsa, eh? The Tinnie Mercantile in Hondo is (or was) nice. Roswell has the alien museum and then the Roswell Museum has a lot of space and science exhibits as well as a magnificent collection of Pete Hurd paintings. About 60 miles north of Roswell towards Portales is a nice place to get out and stretch and enjoy the view. It is a drop off from the west side of the Llano Estacado and you can see south and west for tremendous distances over the desert. Once you pass that you are in peanut growing country until you hit Hereford. Stay in your car and go fast through west Texas in that area. The sections of land that are covered with feed lots just smells bad. Outside of Canyon you have Palo Duro Canyon.....one of the last, if not the last, stronghold of the Comanche Nation. Amarillo's quarter horse association and museum is a nice stop. From there into Oklahoma there really isn't much to stop and see. Near Hinton there is Red Rock Canyon State Park which is nice and has wagon tracks worn into the sandstone cliffs. Oklahoma City has lots of stopping points.....including the Murrah Building. You can find lots of wineries along the way as well.

Avoid anything near Woodland Hills, it’s just like any other generic mall shopping area in any city. Nothing special to see there at all.

Smoke on Cherry Street is the best steakhouse in town and if you want to shop Utica Square is right next door. Go downtown if you want to do the bar scene at night. The rooftop bar at the Mayo Hotel is pretty awesome or try the new Vault in the Blue Dome area downtown.
