kwags, I sent you a DM with a few links in it...one of them has a story with a few other Mineral Rights owners named in that area. Hope it leads you to the info you need!

They are drilling like crazy between Coalgate and Calvin. The most prominent companies are Devon and Newfield. Hope you have some good minerals! You could try checking with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

About two years ago, I learned that our family had mineral rights to 100 acres in Hughes County. It was owned by my dad, who passed away in 1978. I was sent some forms from the company that handles stuff like that (out of Ardmore). I was hoping to see some income from that but haven't seen one red penny. I suspect something is up because when I drive through that area there are dozens of gas wells. My brother is an attorney and he was pretty much handling things from that end so I can't see him letting it slip through his fingers (he is, after all, an attorney). We are not close, and he is a half brother, so I wonder if he's been getting checks and not telling the rest of us. Heck, it's been so long that I have even forgotten what I did with the paperwork that told of the location and such. I'm going to have to look that up. And to boot, we're getting offers from some company to drill underneath our property here in Texas. I didn't even know that I owned the mineral rights to this property but apparently the whole neighborhood does. The gas deal here kind of sounds shady as well and many neighbors are opposing it for various reasons (i.e. it's not as profitable as it seems and apparently the mortgage company charges you 500 dollars to cash the paltry royalty checks, you have to pay for maintenance on the rigs, and so on). I think everybody is just out to get $$$ any way that they can and will cut your throat if you get in the way these days.

Sounds like a working interest, Synopsis. I would stay away from that unless I was a pro at oil & gas.
I would drive out to the property in Hughes Co. and see what is going on there. Who knows, maybe you could be a millionaire soon!

Oil and gas drillers can directional drill, and drill under your property from an adjacent property they already own the mineral rights to. When you visit don't just look at your property but look at adjacent property as well.

Oil in Atoka County
I just found out I have a Mineral Deed for 370 acres in section 21 of Atoka County Oklahoma. Does anyone know what that may be worth?

No one here can answer that question. Do you know if it even has any gas or oil on it? We own quite a few mineral leases and some of them are dry holes. Others, well let's say it's like we hit the lotto....
