Are you aware that Nebraska has feral hogs? Yep, just not a huge number right now. I know that Kansas now has feral hogs in numerous counties and they're increasing all the time simply because of the stupid regulations that actually prevent us from hunting the hogs! Basically you have to have written permission from the affected landowner filed at the KS Livestock Comissioner's office then have to pay for a permit to hunt on that landowner's land ONLY and you have to buy it from the KS Livestock Comission's office. AS a result, many people are illegally hunting hogs in KS. I know of a herd about 20 miles north of Wichita near me.

Hello, I am also new to the forum and from Kansas. I am looking to go down to the love county area of Oklahoma and am curious as to what public hunting areas are good for hog hunting there. I hunt with bow and spear. I just returned from Moulton Alabama on a successful hunt (four hogs taken and piglets). Are there any restrictions in Oklahoma regarding the usage of spears since Hogs are not consired a game animal? Kansas has strange laws that prevent spear hunting, so I thought I would ask. I believe all I need for OK is a hunting license and I am good to use any weapons for hogs?

Hobart!? Their terrain is night and day fom ours. Our friends in Allen and Calvin (Hughes County-so. central OK) both have hog tracks recently.
Here is a link which offers hog hunting in OK. I can't vouch for them, so let us know how it goes. Hog Hunts |

Wow, they are charging some prices! I wonder how they are doing?
We have a few groups of hunters who hunt the hogs. My DH supervises it and it is some amount of trouble to show the boundaries, possible areas where they wily critters might be, give directions etc. We don't charge, we were just trying to get rid of the hogs. We have been talking with the Ranger here, and we think we are going to try trapping them next. |

I haven't been in OK. very long, but I read somewhere that these domestic hogs turn wild fast. We had pigs on our farm, pigs will eat most anything and they're really not dependent on anything, so I can see how this can happen.
From what I've read they can be hunted by any method you want. The Feral Hog in Oklahoma: Feral Hog Control - Hunting Last edited by mkfarnam; 01-22-2008 at 01:41 PM. |

would you let some hunters from Nebraska hunt on your ground?
we would like to shoot as many as we could or just one doesn't matter to us. we are very safe hunters and respect the land wouldn't need a guide, but wouldn't turn one away either. all we do is walk and set and wait. called the game warden around Hobart and no response in three days so i am assuming he is busy. if you would like to talk email me at cdeisley@oaconsulting.com thanks. |
